I've attached the start sheet. Slightly concerned about the turns..
Also would appreciate advice about the first mile, all downhill with a turn at the bottom.

Reading the turn its 1st left soon after emerging from the tunnel, then sharp left again almost immediately at petrol station, and then keep going on same lumpy road until you see the dual carriageway ahead of you. Then follow you nose back onto it. Come off again at Usk junction and dig deep to the finish line
The descent at start is fine. Go as fast as you can until you join the A472 where you do need to slow and take care.
I wouldn't be surprised Chris if you are faster on this course than the A465 course.

Go flat out for the first mile, there is a slight rise before the junction which rubs the speed off. Careful not to take the first left as it takes you down a lane and not onto the dual. Great care on the mini roundabout with vehicles turning and coming in and out of the garage. The section through the villages is slow, you will lose half a mile an hour off your average speed. The section up to the old services is slow too.
Having said all that, I'm expecting a 59 from you!

Follow the rider in front, but make sure you get on the 449 not the minor road, many have done it, did this course in 77, that's 1977, just the same, probably the only course left from the dark 5 speed ages.

And pray there isn't a south westerly wind or its a seemingly endless slog back after the turn!

Emergency course rolling to start and quite a few turns made it a tough one.
A brutal day wind wise as evidenced by the times compared to PB's. I was quite pleased to equal mine.
Official results not out as an ongoing official complaint is being resolved.
