General Discussion / Re: help requested

Hi All.  The CTT District Committee have approved the OVW to run the Celtic Series "10" on the R10/9.  The event is still under the name of www.Real Team.co.uk as Martin Heritage-Owen will do all the Administrative work, but the "on-the-day" running of the event is down to OVW with me as the "on-the day" promoter.   Thanks to all those who have offered their help, any more help will be gratefully received.   Norman.

Hi Terry, Latest news re-Blaengwrach roundabout (McDonalds).  There now appears to be a Filling Station and a Sainsburys Local at this location as well as the KFC.
I will be checking on the implication of the increase in traffic, at the first event this season i.e the Merthyr CC.25.

Sign-on, Levy, Numbers - Mary Marks.
This event was held in glorious weather, and even had a tailwind up from the
double bends.   All contestants rode well, with Mark easily retaining his Club
Championship.    It was unfortunate that this Club event clashed with the
Wales v France World Rugby Cup quarter finals.   Perhaps in four years time
we should get the Rugby match start time altered?
My thanks to Mary, Allan and Stephen for their most valuable help.
Many thanks, Norman.

Time Trials / Re: Club Hill Climb to be held on Sunday 20th.October 2019
« on: October 14, 2019, 08:05:35 PM »
Regarding re-scheduling the Club Hill Climb for next Sunday.  I've just had the regulations concerned verified - we are not allowed to change the time of start
/ finish from that shown on the Police Notification previously submitted.   If it was a matter of safety, then we could delay the event, but not for a distant
Rugby match.  Why not record the game to watch at a later time?

Time Trials / Club Hill Climb to be held on Sunday 20th.October 2019
« on: October 13, 2019, 03:30:21 AM »
To all hill Climbers,  It's that time again when the Club storm the slopes of Llangeinor Hill.
The start is as per usual at Llangeinor Square at 10.30hrs.  Please allow at least 20 minutes to
sign-on, and receive your numbers.   For newcomers, it's a good hill that is not too severe
in gradient, but a good enough challenge to make it interesting.
I look forward to seeing you all next Sunday  - Cheers, Norman.

« on: October 05, 2019, 03:59:00 PM »
Hi All who are interested in the Celtic Series 2020,
The Series will begin on 19th.Aprli at Crickhowell with a 35 miles Hilly event, to Talgarth and back!
The Final event (No.8) will be on 6th.August at Raglan.  It will be a hilly circuit to Cold Harbour - Usk - Raglan.
In between will be some very fast 10's, some not so fast 10's and a very tough hilly circuit.  It seems quite an
interesting list of Time Trials.   Good luck to all who venture into the unknown.

The weather was cool, windy but remained dry.  The turn-out was disappointing for a Club
Championship, but the competition was keen.   Geoff.Hewett was unwell but supported
the event, as did Richard Tucker.   For once the dark art of handicapping seemed to work well!
Congratulations to Anthony on his fine win, and thanks to all other riders for participating.

Thanks to Mary. Allan, Stephen, and Steve for their most valuable help.
I shall miss next week's event, but please support Stephen and the team in the final event of
our "Mid Week" season.
Cheers, Norman.

The forcast hot and sunny day never materialised!   It was overcast or drizzling for
all of the event.  The wind didn't help either.  However, seven brave souls rode and
made it a good competition.   Visitor Gareth had his fastest on this course, only bettered
by brother Neil's 21 minute ride.   Adrian produced a seasons' best to better Geoff.  Paul
lost 20 seconds at the start due to an unshipped chain.  Keith with new pilot Mark was
only 2 seconds off the time he recorded with "Big Dave".   in all a pretty good evening?

My thanks to Stephen and Andy for their valuable help once again.
See you at next week's event - includes the Handicap championship.
Cheers, Norman.

N.B. Note time correction for Neil.
