How many miles did you do in 2020?

2020 was an unusual year , for reasons I can't quite put my finger on!
However, I managed 8060 miles, which was a record for me. This was achieved with a puncture count of 4 (3 on gravel, 1 on the road), using old-fashioned inner tubes..

How many miles did you do and have you got any ambitions for 2021?  I plan to do Land's End to John O' Groats this year...

Total 12,209 miles which is the most I've ever done
This included a gravel Everest ride reaching 29,010ft and 175 miles
 and my longest ride of 232 miles on the summer solstice.

753hrs  total time . 547 rides

2hrs roughly per day commuting
Per week = 10hrs

10x 52 = 520 hrs for commuting
Distance commuting = 15 miles each way
30 miles per day = 30 x 5 = 150 x52 weeks = 7,800 miles for commuting

233hrs spent riding for fun = roughly 10 days
4409 miles

Goals for 2021
Take a train ride to holyhead and cycle back
Cycle 300 miles in less than 24hrs
And if we get to Majorca cycle around the island

3125 miles, which reflects the fact that I wasn't training for any events.
Will be trying to get some challenges in the diary and give me some goals to train for.
So far:-
Frontier 300 June 12th
Laverado Trail Ultra June 25th.
Not sure cycling 300km two weeks before running 120km in the Dolomites is good planning but we'll have to see how it goes!

Some impressive mileages clocked up this year, despite the circumstances.
  My own last competitive outing was the New Year's day 10 which netted 150 ranking points, and following on from a 61 minute 25 the previous September I had been looking forward to an active season in OVW colours. However, hopefully 2021 will see an improvement in the overall situation.
  No Strava, so no proof, but my personal tally was a mere 2953.1 miles up to 30 August, when unfortunately my riding year accidentally ended face down on the tarmac in Cowbridge. Probably it will be a slow start to the year, but I'm itching to get going again very soon, hoping that Welsh competition will be able to resume during this year. WCA 12 anyone?
  Meanwhile, a Happy New Year to everyone, and here's hoping all your plans come to fruition!

500km off road stages? Bloody Hell. Makes my LEJOG look like a walk in the park. The Oggie gravel brigade should come and support you when you ride through Wales...

I was just shy of 8000 miles (by only 30 miles or so) but couldn’t drum up enthusiasm to do the one big ride I needed over Xmas. Hopefully, next year will be similar and with at least 1 week of riding overseas somewhere. Happy New Year all.
