I’ll be at Physique for 9am start. Looking dry but with a brisk westerly, so will head out west for 50 plus miles with coffee stop.

Here’s the route for tomorrow

https://www.strava.com/routes/18969757

Bridgend-Porthcawl-Britton Ferry-Neath-Skewen-Swansea Marina and direct route home down Fabian Way, Harbour Way and A48.

This should be tandem friendly for you too Dave?

Coffee stop in Coffee Fresco in the Marina

Be good to see everyone out again on a club ride and in club kit! See you in the morning.

Good turn out for the club ride today which turned out to be a joint pacers/chasers ride and welcome to Denise who joined us today having recently moved into the area from England. There were 2 COVID assessors present today and everyone on the ride reported COVID symptom free. The official roll call for the COVID record as follows;
Richard Bowmer
Dave Walters
Keith Barrett
Nigel Williams
Paul Rosser
Rob Cowell
Karl Walton
Greg Brett
Lee Stoneham
Richard Lewis
Adrian Lewis
Denise Fitzgerald

Set out on the route as planned and riding well as a group for the most part on the way out. Into a stiff head wind on the way out but don't recall getting an equivalent tail wind home. The group did break up and come back together after some of the rises, notably Three Steps and Skewen and then through Winch Wen and Bonymaen on the way to the coffee stop. Good turns on the front from Dave and Keith and Nigel and others.

Good coffee stop as always at Coffee Fresco in the Marina with a good selection of coffee and cake and thankfully not as expensive as Castellamare last week. Great to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sun on the waterfront.

Then the chase for home. Good pace down Fabian Way with the tandem again on the front. The group broke up as we approached the old Briton Ferry Bridge with the pacers pressing on. This left me, Richard L, Lee and Adrian as a group on the rode. Good to see Adrian out with us again and well done to Adrian for hanging on today.

See you all again next week.

Richard
