Entries need to be in quick, especially for the 3/4. On the Cowbridge course.

Will there be lights on the A48 west of Cowbridge, they are building a road from Cross Inn to the A48 through the new housing estate.

I mentioned this to Ron but he's got confused between West and East. Co-incidentally only this morning he was telling me how map-reading is one of his particular strengths!

Compass was upside down Tom. Does anyone have contact at the Council in Cowbridge to find out what’s going to happen at that junction and the time scale.

All correct. The Ajax organiser Rob Warren has good contacts at Vale of Glam and has all the timings nailed down to get their race through. The new road will bypass the town to the west and from 2020 will resolve a lot of the safety issues we had at the Wasp last summer (they're also improving the sight lines at the Nash corner as well) but will be a bit of a mess through most of this summer when they make the actual realignments.

I have all the plans for the roads here if anyone wants to see them.

Something's up with my racing license, apparently I'm a BC private member, no 177. Not that I'll be troubling the results anyway even in the 3/4 event these days ;D

Very good field as usual for the E/1/2 off at 10.00 from Cowbridge - a few domestic pro teams, riders include Andy Tennant, Jon Mould, Connor Swift, Peter Kibble, Marcin Bialoblocki, Dan Pearson. Race programme attached.

Thanks Harpo. Great to represent OVW at the Betty today.

Really enjoyed my first race back, definitely feeling the additional 30 years & 4 stone after competing at Elite/1st Cat level back in the late 80’s! 😂

Tough day with the wind, crashes everywhere with lots of near misses as a result of some poor bike handling from a select few. I nearly got took out a few times myself but managed to stay upright and dish out some constructive feedback! 😉

Felt pretty good first lap, had s few pops to wind up the race. Towards the end of the 2nd lap put in an effort after avoiding a tumble that put me in the red just as the hammer went down to catch the break, I then struggled to recover. Dropped off and called it a day as didn’t feel I could compete for a good placing. Will use the learning to enhance my training plan for a better chance through the season so got what I wanted from the race.

Onwards to the Abergavenny handicap next Sat, and hopefully be competitive enough to start competing for a win over the next 6-8 weeks once I have my racing legs back on song and shed a few kilo’s!

Be good to have some team mates to ride with! 😜

Adrian.

Well done Adrian, sounds like you needed all your bike-handling skills!
