Good race today.
Fast from the start, averaging nearly 28mph for the 47 miles.
Handicap meant the E12 started a few minutes behind us, but we worked well and didn’t hang about so they didn’t catch us, which was the plan. Our group started around 50 strong but the pace whittled it down to around 15 with a KM to go.
One guy tried his luck and stayed away just about. Thought I’d catch him before the line, but fell 5 meters short! Then pipped on the line for 2nd by a fast finishing Jack Broadley who won the Betty last week.
Disappointed didn’t get the win, the line as always came quicker than expected. Wish we’d had another lap as I was getting stronger and feeling better as the race went on.
Hey ho...onto the next one.
Adrian.
