Sagan vs Cav deliberate or accident?

From what I saw I don't think the punishment is right. It looked to me like keeping his balance. Whats everyone else think?

Agree with decision - instinctive but dangerous and damaging. Like SBW red card - brave call but correct one.

wrong. the first decision was correct putting him last. look at the slo mo cav was already going down sagan was correcting his balance hence the elbow came out.
cav is no saint in the sprint.
they should have also looked at Arnaud Démare he started the problems.

I think the elbow ( after the event ) did not help his case.  Also the mention of him causing the previous pile up.  Sprinting is a high stakes game but you should hold your line.  The standards are going back to the era of Djamolidine Abdoujaparov !  ( I'm surprised I can still spell his name!)

I remember Jamie though I didn't cycle back then but enjoyed watching re Sagan I think the decision was correct - elbow was dangerous cab lucky only to have broken shoulder blade

look at this photo, cav's brakes are under sagans elbow, cav is going down sagan's elbow coming out due him being hit by cav's bike

Look at positions of the two, in frames 1 & 2 certainly looks as if Sagan has come across Cav

At the end of the day he's come across him and pushed him into the boards, I think thats more dangerous than the elbow. Cav has proved sprinters can stay upright after a headbut in a sprint finish so I don't see any problems with an elbow to the face!
