Time Trial saddles
« on: November 03, 2016, 11:54:22 AM »
Need to replace the Fizik Scr**um Crusher that X-ray sold me last year with a more 'boy-friendly' model for time trials.
Hoping that experienced Oggie 'testers' will help/suggest (Steve(s), Mark(s), Chris, Andy)
ISM appear to have an infinite range and Fizik also seem popular but would like views/reviews of those that have used, please.

Tried an ISM, didn't get on with that. Currently back to Prologo that came on bike but thinking might try a Fabric tri saddle. Grove in it and shortened nose.

I've got the fizik saddle with the cut off nose and the jury is still out on it.
looks nice but not sure it's particularly comfortable. I bought it from someone who didn't get on with it.
Think my old long nosed fizik tri saddle was probably best suited to me.

I have the ism one; its brilliant. It does however feel really odd the first few times you use it. Boy friendly as well. ;)

Although many other companies have tried to copy it the ISM Adamo is still the best, When you are in a TT position on a normal saddle it traps a nerve, with the split nose type there is no problem, but these are for a TT position with rotated hips, so there maybe rubbing when you sit up to climb. So I take mine off the TT bike during the winter and put a conventional seat on. You are welcome to try the seat for a period as these seats need getting used to. I tried a few different types, I have done 50's with no problem. You just have to sit on the seat without padded shorts on to realise what your problem has been. Read the ISM report or look at the type of saddles other riders used at Rio. It's worth a try.

Many thanks gents - I will add the ISM new TT saddle (probably PN1.1) to my Christmas list.
Happy New (TT) Year to you all.

Thanks Ron.  I went for new model PN 1.1. ISM website really useful and trusting all the positive reviews will ring true. Found my sit bones are in mid air on current TT bike so it's got to be better :o
