First rule of bike fitting....don't listen to your clubmates (I read that in cycling weekly). Mind you think only bad advice I have had has been from bikes shops. Funny how the one they have in store is ALWAYS just the right size for you!

There are only three variables to check:- cleat position, saddle height and saddle fore/aft position. (Length and height of stem will also play a factor.)

Each of these will have an optimal position depending on your physical size and shape, these positions then have a certain amount of variability depending on flexibility, core strength, any back or knee issues/injuries etc. (there is no point in having a really low aero position if you don't have the core strength or flexibility, to hold it)

We can certainly help set your bike up for an optimal position and you can then make some micro adjustments as you see fit. This could be a first step before spending £150+ on a bikefit, in a shop.
