Friday Night Club Meetings
« on: September 03, 2015, 11:35:03 AM »
There is a standing invitation to all club members to propose or promote any topic which they wish to see and which is likely to be of interest to other club members on Fridays
Since this is officially Autumn we enter the social season with the highlight being the Club Presentation Dinner. See Stevens separate posting.
I plan to promote the following;

Roadmans Night Out: on a Friday night in early October at The Red Fox Penlline. An informal curry and pint night with a retro feel to celebrate the end of the season and just about anything that anyone has enjoyed about cycling this year

Bike Bits Auction: at the end of October. An opportunity to dispose of the bits you no longer need and acquire some more bits which you might all in a fun competitive way. Dig out and polish up your bits with a view to spending the proceeds on some useful kit on the night. We take a 10% fee for club funds from the seller. Whole bikes have been known to sell. Clothing, components of all types, books, DVD's etc.

Christmas Party. Usually the first Friday of December. The usual bring and share format with balloons, music and a chance to wish your mates Happy Christmas without sending them a card !

All dates of these events to be posted when fixed.

Other Fridays will be taken by Pilate's, Turbo sessions with rollers too in a suitable format, a chat about diet from our expert Olly and a Bike-Fix session to repair anything the summer has busted and prepare your winter steed for the road. Including fitting mudguards !

So, there are gaps to fill on Fridays. Please volunteer an idea or do a presentation yourself . I don't yet know if Keith and Andy want to tell us about Paris/Swansea ?  Does any one want to talk about an End To End? Either one that has been done or a proposed one next year ? We have experience in the Club which might help planning.

Finally. The National Cycle Museum in Llandrindod Wells is a great place to take both the big kids (us) or the smaller kids. What about a half term visit ? I would be happy to book a group. Any suggestions as to which week day or weekend day would be best ?
