Amblers Sunday Club Run 8th September 2013
« on: September 04, 2013, 10:12:37 PM »
Brackla - Coychurch - B&Q roundabout - Treoes - Llangan - Craig Penllyn - passed The Red Fox and back onto the main road, across the A48 down the B4270 toward Llantwit Major. The pick up the turn from the club 10 toward St Brides Major. Around the coast Ogmore by Sea - Ewenny - Merthyrmawr -A48 Three steps Hill and a cafe stop in Porthcawl.

After the cafe stop depending on the weather we can decide what route to take home from porthcawl. Should be around 35 miles with an option after the stop to tag on another 15 - 20 miles.

All welcome see you Sunday Brackla 9am

Great turn out this morning 11. Tom, Wayne, Paul Nicholas, Jason Turvey, Terry, Carrie, Mark Pope, John Hewitt, Richard Bowmer, Andrew Foster, and myself.

We stuck to the planned route Carrie left us at Ewenny, so 10 made it to Porthcawl for a cafe stop. Terry made his own way back from Poethcawl, so 9 pressed on down Water lane toward Margam A48. The group split just before pile some deciding to take a more direct route back to Bridged and the other set off to find some more hills.

I was amazed we avoided the rain today. Good company and a nice pace, 53 mile for me today. See the route on Strava. Same time next week.

Yes I enjoyed your innovative route Paul and as you say the weather was much kinder than I expected!Mark P and I wimped out at Pyle neither of us had a mileage recorder but we're estimating we did about 75 miles!!
ps-What do I have in common with Nibali and Horner this week?
No not drug fuelled performance but I was stung by a bee on the way back home

Very good mileage Tom, did you ride home via Cardiff. Or has the bee sting made you delirious?

Are you joking/ guessing about nibali and Horner Tom or has there been some more bad news for cycling?

Nothing that I've read Rob but I'm very sceptical(as I always was about Lance)-I'd like to be wrong!
