Good turn out in good conditions this morning.
Unfortunately Andy had a puncture on the start line and decided to revert to his social ride, with Tony for company,
That left 9 in the chasers group. Me, Scott, Karl, Carl, Paul, Nigel and Reece from Brackla, and we picked up Tim and Mark en route in Laleston. Good group ride all the way to Swansea with little incident other than a flat for Carl, who was tubeless but it does help to have sealant in the tyres when going tubeless. Fortunately Paul was on hand with the top-up. Carl would then have been able to pump up his tyre with his new electronic pump if he had charged it up.
On to the coffee stop and great to be able to sit out in the sun in the Marina. The Marina was busy.
And then the direct route home. Good turn on the front down Fabian Way from Mark and then from Nigel along Afan and Harbour Way into what was a very strong headwind. Others may also have taken a turn but I couldn’t see from the back where I was hanging on. The only respite coming from easing up or sitting up for me. Thanks all for dragging me home.
I’m not out now the next two Sundays but will be working on my fitness during the weeks.
