Cycling Etiquette during lockdown
« on: May 04, 2020, 08:50:47 PM »
Hi, All I hope you are all well and staying sane during the lockdown.

This post is relating to a complaint I received through the club's Facebook page. I'm not going to give you every detail due to the forum being public to read. I've spoken with the person who made the complaint and have apologised for the behaviour and said that has a club we do not condone this sort of behaviour.

The incident happened on Friday 1st may port road barry 6:15 pm 2 cyclists possibly in club kit riding together.
if this was you then please let me know through a personal message.

most if not all of you know the rules regarding lockdown. I have seen a lot of posts on social media about residents not taking a liking to cyclists riding in their village from out of the area. By all means, go for a ride but I would not recommend wearing club kit at this present time has it gives the impression you are from Ogmore valley and cycling as far as Cardiff.

Also, I should not have to remind you all that while wearing club kit you are representing the club and should be abiding by the highway code. please don't give people an extra excuse for people to moan about cyclists on the road.

Stay safe out and I shall look forwards to taking you out on a club run especially has some of you are training like pro's ::) ;D

Totally agree!

Only need to keep the training 'ticking over' at the moment, anyway. Going to be a long time before any racing will be done. (And I don't count beating people up on a Sunday club run)  ::)
