Amblers Ride 1st July
« on: June 27, 2018, 01:18:08 PM »
Weather is looking a little hot this weekend. Lots of climbing might be a bit too much so a nice gentle pootle round the vale with a stop at Cafe Velo?

Brackla - Ewenny - Colwinston - Llysworney - Llanblethian - Llandough - St Mary Church - Llanmaes - Llantwit Major - Marcross - Monknash - Southerdown - Ewenny - Brackla.

30 miles altogether some hills but not long ones.

Good turn out for the Amblers today. 8 of us riding. Myself, Simon, Ron, Ade, Jo, Newbie Scott and Carrie and Nick H.

We left on my willy Strava art ride. It didn't end up looking like a willy though. Lovely gentle ride in nice weather. No mishaps (other than Simon's puncture on the way there). We stopped at Cafe Velo in the Garden which was rather busy but to his credit David didn't charge us for the coffee due to the wait. Although it was a nice chance to chat and listen to Ron's stories without any pressure or lack of breath. When we left Café Velo it started to spit with rain so Simon and me decided to avoid the risk of being soaked and pulled off after At Donats.
Great ride from all and a great effort from Scott. Next week is the Velothon so there won't be a ride organised by me. Could someone sort something out please?

Nice ride today, the map looked like a Picasso effort, some people have strange imaginations Nice coffee in the garden with a bit chat and some shoe sharing? Lots of rain in the channel when we were going home, just a tad damp getting to Pencoed. I will be at Physiques next week, some forgot to enter the Velothon🇳🇵
