Well, what an exciting evening. Firstly Norman and myself forgot the numbers, so Tim kindly drove back home and picked up his set and race back to get them to the riders in time. Richard Beech did an ace job of pinning them on the riders on the starting line. So far so good, except that at the end of the event we were one rider down. No sign of him and no-one could remember seeing him at the finish. His car was still there, Teresa rang his wife, who was now worried, hence a search party. Teresa and Sian one direction, Chris Tasker another and norman and myself yet another direction. We must have all decided to return to the finish as we were travelling in convoy, only to find riders car no longer there. Another call to his wife, he was,nt home yet. The mystery deepens. About 20 minutes later a reassuring call from Teresa who had heard from his wife that he was home and all was well. Phew. It wouldn,t have seemed so bad if the gentleman in question had,nt participated last week event, so should have remembered the course. So well done to Paul Griffiths from Acme. All well that ends well.
