Chaser Club Run Sunday 25th February
« on: February 22, 2018, 01:28:28 PM »
It's going to be cold, so we'll stay low, head out east into the 'Siberian' wind and use it for an easy ride back.  ;D

I'll post a route tonight or tomorrow.

Almost entirely on 'A' roads on the basis they are more likely to be gritted.

Very cold and very windy but sunny enough for an enjoyable winter ride. Two groups set out together but soon separated in the tailwind out to Ogmore. As we turned the corner onto the coast road, we soon realised what we'd let ourselves in for.  Speed soon drained away but Terry and Tony did a great job on the front, both looking strong. This was basically the story all the way to Barry, we did take the lanes to Marcross and St Donats for a bit of shelter but were glad to get to the coffee stop and out of the wind.
quick climb out of Barry warmed us up and we headed for St Fagan's, Rhydlafar and a tailwind home via Llantrisant Road.
Out today were Richard B, Terry, Tony, Roy, Mark P, Mike B and me.
