Cycling in England is under threat.
Imagine you live in a country where you're only allowed to cycle in areas that you can keep up with the motor traffic. Sounds crazy, not to mention pretty horrific, no?
Cyclists in England could easily find themselves in this situation if Highways England has its way and bans cycling from the A63 for exactly this reason.
This is the thin edge of the wedge, which is why we need your support and help.
Highways England should be looking to make cycling safer, not banning outright a healthy, fun and safe activity enjoyed by millions. Cycling UK has submitted its objections to the proposed ban and, thanks to the widespread outrage, this government company is now extending its consultation by a further three weeks, up till 12 March.
If this course gets banned then it will only be a matter of time before other course in the country are picked on for riding on Dual carriageway.
