VVTA 10 mile TT on Saturday
« on: May 15, 2014, 08:05:31 AM »
Nice to see quite a few Ogmore names on the start list, on this fast course. All details of the TT are on the CTT website. Richard read the HQ to start info, it's quite a way to go. The start is about 2 miles up the dual carriageway, so once you are on your way to the start you cant turn around. Perhaps Rob knows how much time to allow, I may carry a bottle on Saturday as it will be a long way back to the HQ, and the weather may be warm.

Hey Ron, just been looking at the map. Didn't know where the HQ was going to be until the start sheet was published. So to get to the start do you have to follow drop down form Llanarth to the B4598 and the follow the B4598 past the Hardwick Hotel all the way back to the Hardwick roundabout to get back on the A40 to get to the start? Wow!
See you tomorrow and good luck for your ride.
Thanks
Richard

Yeah its about 8 miles HQ to start - perfect for a warmup.

Give yourself at least 30 mins to get to start from HQ (35 mins to be safe and 40 mins if you are happy sitting on the bank by the start for 40 minutes cos its a nice day!!)

Made the mistake of arriving far too late to hq, then parking then TTing myself to the start on an event on this course last year, suffice to say I did not do well. Give yourself plenty of time

this is a nice course but you always have to study the details on the start list. I timed my final approach on the dual carriageway and it took 10 minutes , its ok to sit around at the start on a warm day, but they don't come around too often. At least this HQ has plenty of parking. So on to the next one.
