« on: February 28, 2024, 12:56:47 PM »
Here's the route for Sunday. Weather currently looking ok, dry but cooler than it has been and with just a gentle breeze.

Pencoed - Llanharan - Miskin - Groesfaen - St Fagans - Wenvoe - St Andrews Major - Dinas Powys - Lower Penarth - Sully - Barry - Rhoose - East Aberthaw - main road to Llantwit Major and St Brides Major - Southerndown - Ogmore - Home

Just under 60 miles with coffee stop at around 33 miles in Romilly Gardens. Hope that is ok for Richard L.

There are roadworks on the Haywain roundabout again on Sunday, week 2 of 3, but we can cut down onto Coychurch Road on the way out through Briary Way and Kingfisher Close which brings us out at the traffic lights.

Was beginning to think of bringing my own cafetière - so 33 miles before a stop is much more to my liking- much appreciated ☕️

Apologies for the tardiness of reporting.
Nine of us out on Sunday for another mixed group ride, 3 Richards, 2 Pauls, 2 Marks, a Chris and a Carl. And another very enjoyable group ride in glorious conditions for this time of year. Followed the route as planned. Carl was an early leaver peeling off just short of Groesfaen for some solo miles after being off the bike for a few weeks. Strong turns on the front during the morning from Mark R, Chris and Paul N, and they did need to ease up a couple of times on the way home for me to hang on. And strong riding throughout from Richard D who is clearly more pacer than chaser. The usual good coffee stop in Romilly where we integrated well with the locals and good to see Terry and Tony out on the road as we came back through Ogmore and joined us on the run in along the river to Ewenny.
See you all this Sunday.
