Social Sunday 10th December
« on: December 08, 2023, 12:11:03 PM »
Weather forecast is not on our side, AGAIN but I will definitely be breaking out the wet weather gear and cycling this Sunday. My hangover will justify it.

I'll post a nice easy, flat route to be riden at the slowest pace to conducive to keeping warm enough between coffee stops.

See you Sunday, 9:30 start

(I've had enough of the turbo trainer already!!)

About as flat a route, as I can make it, without doing laps of the industrial estate:- https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/240852356

I'm bored of the indoor trainer too, would love to get out on the road but forecast is not good so will twitch the curtains in the morning and make a call then. I've got a feeling the wimp card will be coming out again.

Only Scott and myself braved the conditions this morning and what fun we had!!

It was raining when we set off and stayed like that until the latter part of the ride but at least it wasn't cold. Lots of surface water forced us to be suitably wary and we decided to stay on the main road from Llantwit to St Bride's.

Interesting cross winds through Ogmore turned into a lovely tail wind home. We forwent the coffee stops in order to get around as quickly as possible.

Thanks to Scott for doing the bulk of the work and dragging me out of the 'comfort zone'

Sorry Chris missed this post, though I don't suppose that influenced your decision not to join us  ;D
