Chasers 5 September
« on: September 02, 2021, 08:02:56 PM »
I’ll be out this Sunday. Weather looking ok, just a light easterly. So maybe head out to Cardiff and come home along the coast. Will post exact route in next day or so.

Here’s the route tomorrow:

Bridgend - Coychurch - Pencoed - Llanharan - Miskin - Groes-faen - St Fagans - Barry Road out to St Andrew’s Major - Dinas Powys - Penarth - Sully - Barry - Porthkerry Park - East Abertaw - St Athan - Llantwit Major and landed back onto the Wick Road - St Brides Major - Southerdown - Ogmore - Home

We can have a coffee stop on Penarth Sea front or Porthkerry Park. I’ll look at the mileage one I’ve got the route on Strava and I’ll share the Strava route later.

Looking for a good group ride, riding as a group and keeping the speed to that of the slowest rider.

See you in the morning.

And here’s the route on Strava. It is 99km and relatively flat. Opportunity to shorten the route on the way back for individuals if you want a shorter route. Penarth comes at just 41km so I propose pushing on to Porthkerry for the coffee stop at around 60km, cutting through to Porthkerry from Barry.

Choice of coffee stops Rich, I don’t want you riding too far without a stop ☕️🍰🚴

There were 6 of us out this morning, me, Rich L, Karl, Mark, Denise and Lee. Chillier than expected with the sun failing to make an appearance. Good group ride sharing the work and good workout for me after a few weeks away from the club runs. Largely followed the planned route with just a couple of deviations. We detoured Penarth seafront having agreed with Rich that he would be able to make it as far as Porthkerry for the coffee stop. Good coffee stop with a great selection of cakes. From there we picked up the pace on the run in back to Bridgend. Well done all, see you next week.
