Chasers Sunday 27 October
« on: October 24, 2019, 08:47:31 PM »
Weather looking good Sunday. We will be going out later to accommodate the rugby, 11-30 from Physique. Aberdare loop clockwise, so up the Neath Valley and across to Aberdare, and down through Mountain Ash and Abercynon to Ponypridd, Tonteg, Llanharan, Pencoed and home. 67/68 miles with coffee stop in Bradleys in Aberdare.

A late start today following the rugby this morning and perfect sunny autumn conditions.  A strong group today saw the welcome return of the Corntown twins and a guest appearance from pacer Paul Rosser. So 7 of us out from the start, me, Andy, Terry, Tony, Lee, Karl and Paul and joined by Rob half way round in Cefn Rhigos following a late start via the Bwlch and Rhigos. We largely shared the work in the first half of the ride but there were long strong turns on the front in the second half from Andy and Paul, Andy clearly on a mission after his IronMan exploits in Hawaii. The usual enjoyable coffee stop in Bradleys where we were able to sit out in the Aberdare sunshine. A brisk pace today, 18.9mph for the 70 miles for me, which left me hanging on at times on the way home. A very enjoyable ride, see you all next week when normal service will resume with the end of the World Cup.
