I'm away this weekend, Richard B has offered to 'captain' the ride this Sunday, he will post a route later in the week.

There is a fairly brisk easterly on Sunday so I thought we'd head out East to have the wind on our backs on the way home. This is a route we have done a couple of times before.

https://www.strava.com/routes/16204784

Bridgend - Coychurch - Pencoed - Llanharan - Llantrisant - Beddau - Criegiau - St Fagans - St Lythans - St Nicholas - Bonvilston - Llantrithyd - Flemingston - St Athan - Boverton - Llantwit Major - Marcross - St Brides Major - Southerdown - Ogmore by Sea - Home

50 miles with coffee stop at Dyffryn Gardens

5 of us out today in what turned out to be blustery conditions and quite chilly.
Me
Rich L
Lee Stoneham
Mark J
Hannah

All worked well out into the wind and good turns on the front from Rich and Mark throughout. Followed the route as planned until we got to St Fagans where the road ahead was closed for tree felling causing us to turnaround and take a diversion through Peterstone and Gwern y Steeple. More diversions followed in the Vale with a number of road closures until we got on to the A48 at Bonvilston. On to the cafe stop at Cafe Velo and home. Mark left us at Llantwit and Hannah at St Bride's leaving the rest of us to ride round the coast and the usual chase along the river.

Thanks all.

Ha-that's why I didn't see you at Duffryn Gardens!Actually I guessed you'd divert as I also found the road was closed-tried to guess where you'd go but obviously got that wrong-Hopefully next week-would have been good to see Lee again-can he remember how to ride a bike?
