« on: February 12, 2018, 06:17:26 PM »
I can't make 9.45 tomorrow,I may be able to get out later. As a few regulars know I am making a foray to Monmouth on Friday, catching the 9 o clock train to Newport then riding up from there in case anyone fancies a change!

I should be there but dependent on school bus turning up. If I’m not there then carry on without me and I’ll make it to Cafe Velo.

Chris, Mike and Ron did the original mid week route in bright sunshine, Carrie met us at the cafe and road the long way back with Mike,Chris and I went straight down Death Valley and home. Nice steady ride in the sunshine.

Glad you had a good ride.Mal and I did approx. 60 mainly sunny Monmouthshire miles, not spoiled by my brand new chain getting the most tangled when changing gear that any chain has ever been in history.2 of the links went right through the cut-out(holes to me)in the big ring.We improvised with various tools we discovered on the verge and a metal tyre lever and in a mere half hour managed to disentangle it!I accidently paid for Mal's lunch intending just to pay for his tea but I'm sure what goes around will come around Mal?

We had a full report on your “red” chain during today’s ride. The guide lines for chain lubrication mentions “ oil so many times in life time”, that’s the chains lifetime not yours.
