Night riding
« on: September 30, 2016, 10:11:51 AM »
Went for my first ride into the dusk last night and it was properly dark when I got back. Although I had lights they are only 400 lumens and I have to say it was a bit sketchy going through ogmore.

Does anybody have suggested roads to best ride in the dark or do I just need to get some better lights.

I guess there is a payoff between street lights and extra traffic but would be interested to know if there is a preferred route.

Chaingang!

Every Tuesday at 7pm on the Industrial Estate.  Lights all the way around and you are safer in a group.

I've found the main / A roads best for night riding in particular the A48; as Steven says industrial estate is good for chain gang or outdoor intervals.
Its just not worth the risk otherwise in my opinion which is why I tend to stick to the turbo in the winter evenings.
