Track Session 06 06/01/2016
« on: January 06, 2016, 07:32:58 PM »
Decided to fit another session in this week, similar to the one I did inbetween Christmas and New Year just a bit quicker again as the big guns seemed to have come out of Christmas hibernation.

Started of with a fast paced warm up, 15-20 riders whittled down to a group of 3, followed by 500m sprint 56.4 for me (this is average I think as I heard a couple of 54's 55's called out). After that 500m 64 lap group TT. Split into two groups, I opted for the slower group this time as I wanted to practice riding on the black line, and as the faster group were up on the blue line when we peeled off the front we would be moving backwards between the fast and slow group on the red line. Thought this would help getting used to riding in close proximity to other riders, similar to stacking but with a bit more room. Anyway the slow group grew in size rather quickly as the laps counted down and people blew up! With a lot of gas left in the tank we did Russian Steps (Starting to remember the names at last!) so 10, 20, 30 second sprint efforts on the whistle with the same duration recovery in-between. Got as much out of this as I could riding above the blue line. On the warm down I practiced out of saddle sprinting on my own. Hopefully track bike on the way next week! Saddles on the hire bikes are killing me, 64 laps is more trouble for my ass than my legs!

I think it is brilliant the amount of fun you seem to be getting out of the track.

Thanks for sharing  :)
