For sale and wanted / SOLD: Garmin Vector pedals with single side power meter

Selling these pedals because I’ve never really got on with them. They have self-calibration but other than when I first fitted them to my TT bike, I have never worked out how to get the calibration right. Light use (1/2 a dozen club TTs and a few training rides). These days, I’d rather not know my power output 😂 hence sale. Looking for £50 but I’m happy for someone to try before they buy in case they also have a calibration issue. I bargain for someone…..

Club Runs / Social Ride, 2nd July

I’ll be taking a social ride this Sunday, departing 9am from Brackla as usual. Distance to be determined on the morning and dependent on preferences. Steady pace with the usual “no drop” rule and incorporating a cafe stop. Hope to see a few out….

For sale and wanted / TT Bike for sale

Anyone interested in a TT bike? I’m selling my Argon 18 with Zipp disc rear wheel and Zipp 808 front wheel. It’s rim brakes and the wheels are tubular and come with good condition, good quality tyres. I can throw in a saddle if needed and and also an old track pump with a special nozzle for the wheel. Will be looking for about £800. I’m 6ft 4in and the bike was probably just a tad to small for me, so probably suit someone 6ft - 6ft 2in. Let me know if you might be interested and I can provide more details.

Who fancies going to this event next weekend? Free beer and a look at the new Stolen Goat kit that Cafe Velo are going to start stocking. We could retire to one of the pubs for more beer and possibly food. Bus or train options from and to Bridgend too. I’ll be going. Post on here if you’re interested.

Chain Gang / New route for chain gang

For those of you who have indicated that you won’t ride CG on the Trading Estate, we are trying out a new route behind Fords on the Waterton estate. It’s a really good surface on a 1mile loop between roundabouts. Not sure how it would work for bigger numbers but it’s really good for a small group. We will be there tomorrow for a 6.45pm start. Let me know if you are interested.

A friend of mine is selling a 2018 Giant TCR Advanced rim brake bike in red/black, size medium. It looks like it has a Shimano 105 groupset and original Giant wheelset. It has not been heavily used. He is looking for around £1000 but open to sensible offers. If you are interested, I can send some photos and put you in touch with him (he lives in Cowbridge).

Club Kit / Club Winter Jacket

I’m interested in getting a club winter jacket. Pactimo’s Alpine Thermal jacket is the warmest jacket that they do that is customisable. Full details can be viewed here:

I was thinking of getting one in the same bright yellow as the previous summer kit order. Cost is likely to be about £120 - £130 as the customer kit is discounted. I’ve tried the jacket on and it is a race fit but very stretchy so you can fit warm base layers underneath. It has a a wind proof front & shoulders with a fleece backing and is water resistant.

We need a minimum of 5 orders and then Richard can ask Pactimo to reopen the online shop.

Anybody want one?

Chain Gang / Start of winter chain gang

All, after a short break, CG will be re-starting on Tuesday (16 Nov) at 6.45 (15 mins earlier than the traditional time). It looks like the weather will be good and it already looks like there will be reasonable numbers.

Winter rules will apply with the session having a lower intensity and with a no-drop rule. So it will be a great opportunity to re-join or to give it a go for the first time. A good front light is needed and, if the conditions require, mudguards are recommended. If anyone has any questions, please post here or message me.

The session is administered through a WhatsApp group so I won’t post regularly here but anyone who wants to be added to the group can message me with their mobile number. Hope to see some of you on Tuesday.

This months 30% off code redeemable at pacrimo.co.uk is PACMAY21. Clearly the code for each month is the same but you just need to replace the name of the month eg next month’s code will be PACJUNE21.

These are single use codes but cannot be used for custom kit (ie the club kit). If anyone has any questions, just let me know.

Following the latest relaxation of the lockdown restrictions, chain gang recommenced last night. A strong group were out. So anyone looking to join, please get in touch. It is not a club session and not administered through the website but rather it done via a WhatsApp group. I’m happy to add anyone to that group who has an interest in attending. Cheers!
