Hi All,
As many of you may know, there is a local charity sportive 1ts September for Prostate Cymru Charity Trustees. The route looks great and you'll be riding through 75 miles of the Five Valleys Race Route.
There is a also a 46 miles option for those who don't fancy the full 75 miles.
I have spoken to John Pritchard and he has informed me there is a drinks station on top of the Bwlch, support car and official times. I believe most South Wales cycling clubs are getting involved so it would be great if we could ride as a club run, and we can start together as a group or groups. You don't have to be a Club Cyclist, so if you have friends of family members that want to ride that's fine.
All you have to do is turn up on the day with your sponsorship form. Please use the East car park at Margam Park
Here is the route with an idea for times.
Approximate arrival times at different points of the ride.
The first group starts from Margam Park at 09:00 hrs and the last group at 0940hrs - times are approximate and are calculated as the fastest at 20mph and the slowest at 15 mph

Will I be able to pick up an entry/sponsor form from the Club this coming Friday, Friday 30 August. If not, is there somwhere else I can pick one up from please.
-
I've had the following info from Angharad at Prostate Cymru:
There is no entry fee you can just make an online donation.
Herbalife will be present at the start and at two other locations for drinks/snacks.
The map is too large to attach so I've linked to it below:

Thanks Jason T ;D

On the basis that this will be the club run this Sunday, are we meeting at Margam Park or Brackla?
If we are meeting at Brackla should we meet a few minutes earlier to allow for the ride over?
What are people's thoughts?
-
It would be good to know what others think and which route they would be interested in.
If people would like to aim for the Long Route then it would be better for me to drive straight to Margam as I would be coming from Pontypridd way.... that and I don't know how my legs would cope with 90+ miles if setting off from Physiques.
-
I've not long had an email from Angharad with the following info:
Registration is 8am and start time is 9am.
Can I ask are you a member of a cycling club and how many will be cycling with you?
I informed her that I don't know numbers, especially if people have received a sponsorship form these past few weeks and don't check the forum, but I will let her know approx numbers if people can reply here.
-
Hi Jason I will be taking part and going to drive to margam. If we are going to ride it as a group I am quite happy to go with a majority decision as to which distance we do
-
I'll go straight to Margam, don't need to do any extra miles!
-
I'm driving over there too. Planning to get over there for 8-30 and with the expectancy of doing the longer route.
-
I'll meet you all at Margam as I'm driving from Barry. I should be there by 0830.

-
I'll either go straight to Margam or join the ride as it passes Talbot Green
