Title: Change of colours
Post by: Rob Jones on February 25, 2015, 08:03:33 PM
Just to let you know that after what must be 7 great years in Ogmore colours, I have this season joined Ajax. This is because I am now living in east Cardiff (since last summer) and finding the 22 mile + ride (often into the wind) to club runs, chaingang, midweek etc, or a long drive to club night, prohibitively far. And those that know me will know I don't like wasting valuable riding time in the car, aside from having to share car with the missus. I chose Ajax in Cardiff largely because their kit is the same colours as my road bike  8) and because like ogmore the club gets involved in both racing and TT. I'll be keeping my ogmore kit however, and joining 2nd claim this season. Hope to still join you for the odd hilly club run, midweek TT and social. Best of luck to everyone at the club, see you out and about!

Good luck at your new club, Rob
I'll try and post some 'interesting' routes to tempt you, after the guys return from Mallorca

Good Luck Rob,

Thanks for the tips when I initially joined the club and the anticipation of who beat who on the midweek TT will never be repeated !!! Lol.

See you on the circuit and ride safe !!!!

Cheers,

Notty.

Best of luck at the new club Rob, I will see you at the TT's cause that's what real cyclists do. PS capital O in Ogmore you are slipping already.

Rob,

You've been a great ambassador for the club, often our lone representative in road races. Pleased you are staying with us as second claim because the OVW is a bit like 'Hotel California'  ( you know the lyrics I am referring to!).  Start the groundwork now with Ruth for Mallorca 2016...

Look forward to seeing some good results for you with Ajax - be nice for you to have a bigger team around you.

I'd been riding the 19.6 miles from Whitchurch to Physiques for 7 years too.  When you then go West it makes for a 40 mile extension that is called good training time or 'the whole day avoiding gardening'.

Whatever you do, don't make the mistake I made when I accepted the summer shorts..... they are see-through.

Once an Oggie, always an Oggie.

Don't do club shorts mark, I'm top fussy about comfort...only my own will do.... Castelli or Giordana...assos when they in the wash and the roads dry (they bloody white...you live and learn).
