I'm having difficuly entering on-line, anyone else had problems?
Steve, I'm happy to cycle over, 9am start but I may need to sort out my registration over there first.
-
Richard - I entered online a few days back and it all went okay. I had a reply which gave me my 'start' time of 9.00am. The mail said that riders were going off in groups of 30 as agreed with the police ? Anyway, I'm guessing we can sort it out at the start.
Steve - We can meet at Brackla or maybe at a set time in Bridgend and ride to Margam if wanted, I'm fine with that. It's about 10 or 12 miles depending on route and we need to be there by 8.45 latest so a fairly early start if we are to avoid a bit of panic. I'm okay either way.
Cheers

I was going to enter on the line! That way I could chicken out if the weather is bad.
Yeah I was thinking early start how about 7.45 by the lights at the bottom of park street? We can go from there straight up to Llaleston then the A48 to Margam
-
Steve,
I too was unable to register on line, however, I sent an email to john.pritchard@prostatecancercymru.com and explained the difficulty trying to register. He replied, saying I can pay at the start of the event, with a 9am start so that we can stay as a group :). Cheers
-
My start time is. 9.45 , going to register at. 8ish , so I can start with you lot earlier

-
Steve, I'm riding to Margam - will speak to Neil in a minute as he is riding over as well. Will get back to you.
-
Steve / et al,
Okay - Neil, Tony and myself will be at the bottom of Park Street at 7.45 tomorrow morning. We can decide on Laleston & A48 or Aberkenig & Park Slip etc - not bothered either way.
Not sure about the other guys eg Jonathan etc. Maybe some others will join us there ?
See you then.
cheers
Terry

Neil, Jonathan, Terry, Tony, and Myself headed off early to Margam. For the 5 Valleys. Terry had a puncture just past Laleston but as Terry was already registered we all left him to it. Met Wayne and Haydn at the start and Terry just making it for a 9am start. Nicole Cooke dropped the flag and the seven of us were off. Bit of a slow start along the A48 with lots of riders bunched together so Haydn put the hammer down just after the Broadlands roundabout and we all followed and a few extra from Port Talbot Wheelers, one of which was Stuart Evans who I haven't seen for almost 25 years ( still looking as fit as ever ) we all stayed together over Smilog, Gilfach, Blackmill, and the Bwlch to the feedstation. Quick stop and we were off again up the Rhigos where we were all hanging onto the wheel of a young lady from Lodge Cycles putting us all to shame. At the bottom of the Rhigos we regrouped looking forward to the last climb up Cimla, pretty flat run in back to Margam but I think we were all feeling the fast start by then. We came into the finishing area as a team and all crossed the line together which should be a great photo if we can get one.
Thanks to all for a great ride, just over 100 miles for me and feeling it now.

Well done All.
Stuart is on the Mallorca trip this year Steve but I can't believe you 2 haven't bumped into each other the amount of riding you both do.
Did you see Carrie-she was asked to ride in a group with Nicole C
-
Yeah Tom, we seen Carrie at the start, and she was coming in to the finishing area as we were leaving, not sure if she rode with Nicole as she was selling her book at the finish.
-
100+ miles for some of you I see...but I am most impressed by you all finishing together, especially with 2 big climbs. Great discipline and comradeship (think that's the right word!). Hope you find your photo
-
Rob - as Steve said, it was a tough day but we did a good job of sticking together with only a couple of minor 're-groups' necessary. We agreed well before the finish that we would cross the line together - we were all in club kit and so I think we looked okay.
