Echo the 'good lucks' for Jason.

The Oggie cheerleaders will be manning the BBQ at the garden centre to give you a huge cheer as you go sailing past  ;)

The 'mysterious mgalex' is long time member and new dad Mark Alexander.

Thank you for your words of support - not looking forward to tomorrow (no surprises), I've had a very busy August which has dramatically hampered the riding so going into tomorrow rather 'shy of riding miles'; hey ho it'll be a good training ride!!!  ;)

Yep. Have a safe and trouble free ride + ideally some good weather too.

Jason completed 176.48 miles in 12hrs.

A great result, especially as he has changed jobs recently and not had as much time to train.  He's the only Oggie to complete all the long distance events this year and is the worthy club champion !

Well done Jason.  windy today, must have been tough. Germaline is good for saddle sores!

What a day!!! As much as I dare say it, I actually enjoyed today??!!?? 176.48m PB!
(winner: Jon Wynn, Nothover VT Rudy Project: 287.74. 2nd Dan Coleman Pembrokeshire Velo: 280.46)

Pleased with my pace throughout the first half (up to approx. the 5hr mark I was on for 200m!?)
The worst section for me today was the section of the A40 from Raglan roundabout to the Hardwick turn - stiff breeze all day long. This really drained the legs for the 4 main laps covered today.

A few notes to one-self for next year - start by wearing knee warmers & thicker overshoes (not just lycra ones). I couldn't feel my feet until about 11 o'clock & the knees took a while to get going.

All in all a great day, really pleased with the distance (I have to admit I did stop at TK4 with 11mins to go as the thought of getting to TK5 and then having to ride back to my car was just too much!)

Thank you all for your supportive words - appreciated!  ;D

Well done Jason-respect!
Is 287 a Welsh Comp record?

Great effort Jason, can't imagine doing one discipline for that long.

Back to long course triathlon next year?   ;D

Comment from the CTT forum

"Tannis Hand won the ladies with 211.91, Danny Coleman set a new Junior comp record with 280.75, Jon Wynned it with a new course record of 287.74, and Pembrokeshire Velo set a new course team record with 798.35

All provisionally, of course ...

Thanks Teresa-I remember Steve Edwards did(I think)284 which stood as Welsh comp record for many years-I think yesterday would be quite hard with a strong headwind q  a bit of the time as Jason said.

Superb Jason, that's a great ride on lack of mileage, and you enjoyed it, what's that all about?!

Great that the OVW kit is yellow - Much easier to spot when there are loads of photos to look through  :)
