Post by: ron b on April 07, 2014, 04:11:10 PM
Time to get your entries in for the Welsh 25 TT Championships, lots of spaces available on the Resolven course. Lets try to get as many Oggies in this event as possible, unsure how to enter or how it all happens "Ask.." all you Pacers and Amblers have a go, and ladies we need you in these events.

Not many Oggies in this event, not as big a field as past years.

Cheers Chris, quandary now is can I just 'tick it off' or do I have to aim for a 58?

Where's the quandary? Roger Bannister didn't stop running after his 4min mile :-)

Very good conditions today, very little wind and sunny for the later riders, so good time done by all, Well done all Oggies, Mark just bettered Steven by seconds. Too many good times to list so check out the finish list on the Welsh TT site or on the CTC site later today. Terry Icke at a young 70 managed to post a 53 minute for 25, maybe a vets age record. Well done Andy for the excellent breakthrough and Joe for getting second in the overflow. Still we need more Oggies at these events. Get you entries in quick for the 10 at Raglan on the 17th

Back training again after some set backs, two fairly slow 25's, Sundays trip included a slight mechanical which needed sorting. After reading "Xrayspecs" Chris' report about his heart rate in the chain gang, in this Sundays jaunt, my Hr was up around 175 from McD's on the way down and up to 180 for the last couple of KM's. I was lucky with the roundabouts and had a clear run through them all. Just got to build up my strength again, without blowing any gaskets. Some good time set by all, young Hetty did a 58, not bad for a 15 year old girl.

Your HR numbers mean nothing to the rest of the world Ron, in isolation from your max HR.

Getting up to that level on the Turbo for intervals is very difficult, but out on the TT events no problem, any thoughts?
