Ogmore’s 10 TT promotion on the St Athan course is less than weeks. It’s part of the Celtic Series and Aerobike non-aero series.
It needs to comply with Covid regulations, so there will be no holder/pusher, result board, winners presentations or catering.
However, roles need to be filled:
Turn marshal/number checker at the airport roundabout
Headquarters admin - sign on/out race number allocation
A start helper to monitor competitor numbers and enforce the use of rear lights.
Anyone putting their hands up to fill these three necessary positions will be appreciated.

Steve, I am currently due to be away on holiday then but actual dates may have to change. If they do, and I’m here you can count me in. I’ll let you know as soon as I know.
-
Mark, thank you for the offer of help.
I don't see that this race will have a huge entry, and, due to the current (turn up, sign on, race, sign off, go home) format, it will probably be done and dusted in an hour.
If another couple of members have a bit of free time, they will certainly be appreciated

Sorry haven’t been around lately as family been keeping me busy! I can be available to help out. Let me know.
-
Yes please Paul.
Ideally, I'd like you to marshal the turn roundabout in order to satisfy the risk assesment.
There isn't a huge entry so far so I'm not anticipating you being there for long.
I'll be in touch closer to the day to confirm.

Hi Steve,
Sorry but can't help, working in the depths of Gwent valleys, so can't get there in time.

I did offer to help out if needed when I replied to your email on this back in October
-
If you are around tonight I’ll try and pop into the club

Thanks for:
The offer of help which I accept
and
Reminding me that I have parts that resemble a sieve.
Entries so far are:
4 non aero
and
16 other entries
Unless there's an avalanche before online entries close at 23:59 tonight, it won't be too arduous.
There a few fast riders chasing Celtic series points and I'm revising my plan of getting away with a single timekeeper.

No problem, I think we have things covered and thanks for the reply.

Yes, I'll be there tonight.

I should be able to help out if needed, just let me know what time you need me

Thank you for offering Nige, I'll take it so that you can be a floating reserve just in case someone has to drop out
Although all jobs are covered, it's always better to have too many than not enough.
It's
Lindy - sign in/out
Paul N and Richard B keeping each other company at the turn
I'm start time keeper
Martyn H-O* is drafted in for the finish.
I'm awaiting a time and place to pick up the key, I'll be finding that out today.
HQ opens for competitors at 18:00, so could I meet you there some time before?
Last one off at 19:20.
The only niggle I have is that there is some serious carriageway repairs being done along the lowest part of the road between the garage and the climb up to the airport.
I have been assured by VoG council that all plant equipment etc will be off the road mid afternoon.
The good bit is that the terrible road surface has been replaced with super smooth tarmac which may result in an unbelieveable winning time.
*The Celtic Series co-ordinator and has done a fair chunk of the back room stuff for me.

Well, we're back!
Thanks to the management for tonight's event, and for the shouts of encouragement at the turn. Weather was kind, against expectation, apart from the wind, so not unhappy with that overall. This is what we ride for - we are racers! Thanks again.

Hi Steve, my apologies but I totally lost sight of this. I was around and would have helped out if I’d remembered. Doh! Glad to see you had enough help and that the event went well.
-
Mark, no problem. The delay in reply isn’t because I’m pouting, my internet access has been very hit or miss for the past couple of days as there’s a fault somewhere on the copper wires connecting to the house. Our phone is also out of action but at least it cuts down on the nuisance calls. I'm not patient enough to peck this out on a mobile.
Firstly, this couldn’t have been staged without help from others so, in no order of importance:
Richard B and Paul N, turn marshals,
Nige efficiently helping at the HQ and start,
Lindy with her line manager Alys supervising the sign on/out,
Martyn our finish timekeeper. Additionally, Martyn has done just about all of the backstage work for this promotion which I hugely appreciate.
