Weather is looking ok for tomorrow. Dave and Keith are with us on the tandem so a suggestion is a trip to Pembrey. Route below; 9am start

A few of us out initially this morning; Harpo, Paul, Nigel, Mark, Steve, Dave, Keith and myself on our way to Pembrey. The tandem pair flew up Stormy Down with Harpo leading it out, down through Margam where Steve left us (on a short passport out today!), We worked together out over Harbour Way, over the Ferry Bridge and via Fabian way, Mark leaving us at Port Talbot. Harpo's rib injury didn't seem to slow him down but he sensibly decided to peel off at the marina. The remaining five of us continued out north of the City, the roads being a bit lumpy via Waunarlwyd, through the lanes taking us over the Lougher bridge and around the coast road into Llanelli and onwards to Pembrey. We headed for the new cycle track but unfortunately were unable to get on there as they were holding an athletics tournament  :(. It looks a nice surface in a great setting but does undulate quite a bit so not an easy one. Coffee stop was in a new cafe to me, Daisy's Little Cafe on the outskirts of the park. I'd recommend it, the cake selection was pretty good. Keith seemed to enjoy his scone with jam, cream, jam combo!

On leaving the park we faced the Pembrey Mountain climb, a tough road ramping up to 21% with steep hairpins. Fair play to Keith and Dave getting up there on the tandem, absolutely awesome effort. From the top we had a long fast sweeping descent into Llanelli, the tandem in its element absolutely flying. Onto Swiss Valley, Felinfoel, Dafen and through Pontardulais up to the M4 junction. Another fast descent ahead into Morriston where the tandem launched into beast mode, Nigel, Paul and myself had no chance of keeping up! Leaving Swansea through Skewen, Neath and a brief coke stop at McDonalds. I turned off at Kenfig Hill the others heading up via Stormy. Good day, but my legs are cooked!
