Forecast good, who's out?

Fancy this? Longish one with plenty of climbing!

I plan to be out. As it’s a longish route, 8am start? Or the usual 9am?

At the moment I'd say stick to 9 but if the majority come on here and state they prefer an 8 start, I'm more than happy to go out earlier.

Eight riders left Brackla on a fantastic day for cycling and in much anticipation of a 'classic' club run route.

Riding today were:-

Mark
Steve
Karl
Lee
Hannah
Ade
Richard L
and me.
The pace was 'neutralised'  as far as the Clock tower in Nantymoel, which was just as well as Mark and Steve were keeping us all honest! Steve and Mark then set off up the sharp kick from the tower, while the rest of us rode as a group, maintaining a reasonable pace. Half way up the Bwlch I had another pedal mechanical  (It's going in the bin) and had to single leg pedal back to Brackla, which was an interesting challenge. The rest continued, with Mark backtracking from the top of the Bwlch and Steve from Treorchy.
I meanwhile drove home, changed bikes and cycled the route in reverse to meet up with the rest of the group on the way down from Merthyr.
Seems that all enjoyed but unfortunately the road over Pendyryn had been resurfaced with loose chippings so they had a bit of 'gravel'  riding to contend with, though this seems to be the in thing, at the moment.
Great day, sorry couldn't ride the route in full...............next time.
