This Sunday will be the first of the club's Reliability rides. Here is the route:- https://www.strava.com/segments/14027409
The idea is you ride at your own pace and choose a time you think you can ride the distance in. If your not sure about the route or your pace then team up with other riders of similar ability.
For RR1 there are 3 options:-
50 miles in 3.5 hours = 14 mph ave speed
50 miles in 3 hours = 16 mph ave speed
50 miles in 2.5 hours = 20 mph ave speed
Start times are 8:30 for 3.5 hour option, 9:00 for 3 hours and 9:30 for 2.5 hour option.
Please sign on at least 15 minutes before your intending start time.
No computers, watches or GPS devices are allowed, so if you feel the need to record your ride then tape over or cover up screens.
To be 'reliable' or 'qualify' in RR1 you have to finish + or - 10 minutes of your intended time.
The finish is at Hannah's cafe, which is now closed, so after checking in, I suggest meeting in Cowbridge for refreshments.
Dave W is timing the ride this Sunday so please be prompt in signing in and remember to let him or other riders know if you don't intend completing the ride.

Not around this W/end, but hoping to make RR2 and RR3. Have fun!

Just a reminder to be at Brackla 15 minutes before your preferred start time, ready to sign on.
8:15 sign on for 3 hour 30 min ride (8:30 start) (is anyone riding this time??)
8:45 sign on for 3 hour ride (9:00 start)
9:15 sign on for 2 hour 30 min ride (9:30 start)
I will look forward to seeing plenty of the amblers turning up to ride unlike your captain Ben who can't be arsed :-\
-
Sorry Dave I will be there at 8:15. You better get an early night Saturday.
-
Nice one ade...I'll be there bright and early to offer you all support and encouragement in my usual manner ;D
-
I hope to be out tomorrow for the 8 30 start, weather is looking ok as far as Reliability rides go. Any new riders who are unsure of the formalities just turn up, you will not be left behind. The name of the game is to ride at an average speed for the set time. Oh and there’s a Cup for the winner, A very prestigious one at that. Dave is giving up his morniing to do the timing so please support this event. Better do it myself now. 🐌

Well done Dave!! Good photos and good stats
-
Thanks for officiating Dave.
I can't help thinking it would have made for a much easier day out if we had a six up with the 2"32 group.
-
Nice ride today, only 3 in slow group, maybe more next time. Thanks for giving up your time today Dave, plus you had to buy a cooked breakfast, maybe someone will buy Hannah’s ready for next year, the breakfasts were nice. Roll on number 2
-
whoever turned up for a club run was lucky in a way-if it wasn't RR1 they'd have been half an hour late!
-
Or very early for next weeks event? There always Greggs 🐖
