Most of you should know the routine now but....
There are two time options for RR2:
1) 50 miles in 3 1/2 hours (14 mph) Start time 8:30
2) 50 miles in 3 hours (16mph) Start time 9:00
Sign on is at least 15 minutes before your chosen start time.
Route https://www.strava.com/routes/11657510
Out via Tondu Rd, Fountain Rd, to Margam then Taibach and the Bwlch. Don't forget after descending the Bwlch and going through Ogmore Vale you then have to take a right turn over Llangeinor before crossing the common to Heol y Cyw, Pencoed and the dual back to Ewenny cafe.
Try and stay in groups and help each other, you'll appreciate it later in the ride
Current weather foercast is 10C cloudy and tailwind helping up the Bwlch

who's doing 3hrs?
-
I’ll be there at 9 nige
-
8-30 start for me. Change of plan, out at 9.
-
I won't be there this week. I can't leave Clair just yet (although she is home. Yay!!) But I'll be out next weekend and back to normal.
-
Steve Curry will be timing Sunday's event, please help by arriving to sign on 15 mins before the start time you have chosen.
Remember that you have to ride the event without the help of timing or GPS devices so keep them in your back pocket or tape over
Also its been pointed out that the Strava route deviates off the A4065 to turn up to Wigan Terr after descending Llangeinor. The correct route is to stay on A4065 Bryn Rd to the traffic lights turning left onto A4061. There is very little difference in the distance should you go the wrong way!
I will correct the map and re-post
Andy

I will be there tomorrow, any company ?
-
I'll be there for 9
-
I’ll be there for 9 too.
-
I will be doing the 8 30 start, this event is suitable for all Oggie’s who have been out with the Amblers in the passed, no one will be left behind and we will ride as a bunch. Don’t forget to allow time to sign on and remove or cover computers and watches etc. This is non stop so bring a drink and goodies to eat on the way, make sure the nibbles can be easily accessible and no wrappers to fiddle with.

Thanks Steve for doing the honours today, much appreciated
-
Thanks for timing today steve.
Good ride today working well together, got split up a little on the Bwlch.

19 riders up for today's Reliability 2.
Dry with light winds and a refreshing mist on the Bwlch conditions were almost Spring-like!
16 finishers with:
James Criddle - super reliable in 2:59:34,
Nick L and Rich B - well reliable at 3:02:38,
fairly reliable were Hannah J and Mike B in 3:22:40 and Mark B in 2:52:25,
slightly less than reliable: Cliff V, Jon N, Matt H and Chris R in 3:17:16,
even less reliable: Nigel W, Reece A, Terry A in 2:43:53,
completely unreliable were: Haydn L and Greg B in 2:39:40 and Mark R in 2:39:04.
Lent award (penance) goes to Mark B for riding around with a broken wheel rubbing at least an extra 30 watts onto his legs!

Thanks for timing Steve.
Spring like is a bit of poetic licence. :)
-
Thanks for timing today Steve. Penance now served. Reward is to press my new Hunt wheels into action next week 😁
-
Thanks Steve, I think this may be the first time I haven't been disqualified 😀

Thanks for timeing today Steve, alas I did not get to meet you at the cafe. How slow can one climb the Bwlch, Harpo and co passed me over the summit, but I could hear them chattering when when I was racing to the top. Tony and his gang passed me near the turn for Llan g, they passed me again on HY C common followed be Mike and Hannah. Sarah turned for home after Park Slip, I think the initial speed through town and Aber k, was too quick. Perhaps we will have more slower riders for the 100 k event giving more shelter for slow riders.
