Hi guys, I'm having issues with my Garmin 810 not charging or switching on. Garmin have suggested that it could be the cable, otherwise they want me to pay £82 to get a device under two years old to be fixed/replaced!
Has anyone got a garmin USB cable I could use to check? Im in Bridgend and can travel to you to test it, would only be a quick two minute check
Thanks

Hey Nick. I just use a normal USB lead to charge mine. You can borrow one if you like. I'm in Llantwit though.

Thanks Ben, just been to Mr Madeley's and used his cable....Garmin is officially f**ked (technical term!) Cheers anyway

Inside the connector do the pins look dirty or bent (on the garmin)
You can use alcohol to clean the pins.it could be corrosion on the inside of the garmin.
if it's the connector any laptop place or someone with soldering experience can replace one of these ;D

Thanks Dave, I cleaned the outside pins, then took it apart to have a look but as I'm still bartering with Garmin I was reluctant to start scraping the silicone away. Will order a new charging port from your link and if I have no luck with Garmin I'll give it a go
Thanks
