I'll be out on Sunday. Legs Are feeling rather heavy at the moment based on my last 2 rides so will be a gentle pace. I'm going to keep it below 35 miles this week too. But as yet I've not decided on the route.

I'm doing the iron mountain sportive this weekend in Abergavenny Ben so won't be out - I'm glad it's cooled off !
-
Me too. I really struggled on my ride home last night. Just wasn't feeling it.

Hi Ben,
Nick & I are doing a sportive in Yorkshire on Saturday so unfortunately won't be back in time (or fit) for Sunday ride this weekend.

Hi yes. Physiques at 9 on Sunday. Nice gentle amble this week.
-
Cool, see you there :D
-
I'll be there too!
-
Are you driving Paul or riding?
-
I'm definitely riding! It's cheating if I follow you all in the car! 😂
I'll meet you at 8:00?
-
8 or 9?
-
It's 9 at Brackla Ben,Ben and Paul both live in Llantwit and are arranging what time they will meet to ride to Brackla.I can see it's pretty confusing if you don't know that!
-
Yep. Tom is right. Paul and me will meet at 8 ride to Brackla for 9am. We leave Physiques at precisely 9am.

Got it ha!

6 brave souls set sail from the port of Brackla this morning. Aboard HMS Amblers were Captain Ben, First mate Tom, Chef Mike, Warrant Officer Ross, Cheif petty officer Paul and a new Sea cadet Ben. It drizzled, it belted down, it poured, it pelted it even came down in stair rods. But we left anyway along the Tuesday route with a view to stop at Cafe Velo as usual.
The ride was fairly uneventful Ben is quite a strong rider. Tom had his comfort breaks. Then just before turning to Flemingston we encountered a car. Paul braked to avoid it. Mine weren't working quite as well as needed due to them being wet so I had 3 choices.
Hit Paul.
Hit the car.
Hit the hedge.
I chose the hedge. I (shall we say) fell off. I don't remember much more from here onwards until coming down the stairs at Cafe Velo to a hot latte and some fruit toast. The way home after that is a little fuzzy. I know Paul rode with me. No idea what happened to the others... I have been to A&E I have concussion. My helmet is beyond b*g*erd it's split and cracked. I'm glad I was wearing it.
Thanks to Paul for getting me home. Thanks to the others for keeping an eye on me on the way home. Hope to see you soon. Ben it's not always this dramatic so don't worry and well see you out again?
-
Glad you went to A&E Ben-we were a bit concerned about you. You won't remember this but you must have asked us if your phone was ok about 20 times between Flemigstone and Llantwit. Hope bike ok too! Well done to Paul-you were insistent you had to have cake before going home and he volunteered to make sure you got there!
-
Thanks Tom. It's a really odd feeling not knowing anything about the rest of the ride. My helmet has a massive split in it. But better that than my head. I need to check my bike over properly in the morning. I don't think there's any damage to it. Did I say anything about it not feeling right?
-
I'm sure Ben.We had a look at your bike and there was nothing obvious nor did you say anything about it. Mike(who saw it all best)said you very wisely took all the impact with your body thereby protecting your much more precious bike!
