Thanks guys...It's 4 days of racing, Sprint was yesterday (200 meters!!), today is a TTT, (25km rolling and windy). Tomorrow is a ITT (6.5km half of which is up a big hill) and then a road race (60km) on Sunday.

Thanks,

Neil

There's no overall...4 individual world championships, one gold and 3 silvers for my efforts :-) Really fun 4 days of racing, though I am absolutely shattered!!

It's been brilliant...I'm a bit sceptical of the rush to honour 'young' sports stars...so I better not be a hypocrite!! Plus better start working on being a sports star ;-)

The people have been amazing to meet and though there were not as many competitors as we would hope, the one that were here all came in great shape and it was really fierce competition. The road race was 40 miles in the end in unreal heat! It was 3 laps of a course with a 5km 600ft climb...not really my forte, but it was really cool as the better climbers new they most likely needed to drop me before the sprint and so kept attacking me constantly. It was awesome and a bit like the kind of racing I grew up watching with attack and defence on a long climb :-)

The finish of the RR was up a decent little punchy hill and proved too much as, having matched every attack all day, the Belgian guy managed to finally get away leaving me to sprint it out for Second with the German.

The next Press World Champs is in Germany same time next year, so anyone who is a writer or in the media should definitely look at giving it a go...great fun and great people :-)

It certainly is a beautiful place. The races were all based around my wife home town, which is the only reason I was aware there was such a thing as the world Press CC...however, now I know about it I'm going to be there in Germany next year to defend my title :-)
