Can somebody link a ride route that has the annual hill climb trial in, ideally with the segment name if it's got one in strava.
Not that I've got any dreams of grandeur other than I'd like to know I can get up the hill 😀

Here's the segment;

This was the Amblers route from last year;

Reece,
Last year's times for the Club Hill Climb can be seen under 'Time Trials', Club Hill Climb Champs, on page 5 of the Time Trial message page. Basically you just need to bust a gut for around 5 minutes (or under 4 mins 21 secs if you want to break the Club record) ;D. We had 18 riders last year, and 25 the year before , which was a club record attendance. Hopefully we will have even better numbers this year. The Amblers will ride up the route a week or two before the event so you can have a taster in advance.

Thanks for the info

Is this open to non-members. I have a friend that rides for Monmouthshire Wheelers that would fancy a go?
-
Nick I think the answer is yes. It is run on the same basis as the Thursday 10s. I'm sure someone else will confirm.
-
Yes I'm surprised someone else hasn't responded Nick(maybe needs to go on another thread)but I'm sure Richard is right-if he shows up he'll get a ride-won't be allowed to be Club Champ unless he joins though!!!

For those novices who wish to take part, "there is no push", make sure you are in a low enough gear to get going when released. Normally a block of wood will be placed behind the back wheel to stop the bike rolling back, the person holding the bike will only release his grip he will not push the competitor. Being in the wrong gear could involve a lie down on the rod. Also make sure you know where the finish is, could be the difference between winning and losing.
-
....and pave yourself. No point blowing up before the switchbacks!
-
What do the residents of Dinky Poo use to "Pave" these days. Good turnout today for the hill climb, 19 riders, some did not "pace" themselves and blew up, no one got lost this year, oh and the weather was perfect, could have had a BBQ at the top, a thought for next year?
-
Really should read my posts before 'pressing the button'! :-[

Great turnout today and brill to see so much support as well, everyone pushing each other right to the line. Nick and Will who joined us from Monmouthshire Wheelers were really impressed with the whole thing so kudos goes to all the organisers who put on the event, thank you

Nick, I guess that is the 'before' picture, you look way too comfortable ;)
It was good to see 19 riders taking part, including some guests.
A very relaxed affair, with lovely sunshine. Looking forward to next year already

Oh without a doubt that was before, my face was numb afterwards and unable to control any kind of expression it was giving out! Thanks for putting it on Teresa et al
