I made my way up to Newport this morning with some trepidation after my first visit to the OVW chain gang last night. It had been a baptism of fire as it turned out with an average speed just shy of 25mph for 20 miles and gifting some Strava KOM's to some complete strangers. Good fun nevertheless.
Back to track cycling, smaller numbers this week but a good opportunity to have a chat with some of the other regulars who are a friendly bunch indeed. Flying 500m Sprint: stingy legs this morning and the heart of a donkey ready for the glue factory 35.3 can't grumble about this really. Have yet to replace the saddle on my bike so a numb 96 laps on the black line was completed in 32.26 12 seconds faster than the previous week which I believe makes this the fastest yet. Fair play to Jez who took massive turns on the front, I could only manage 3-4 laps with the wind in my face today. Civilised steady pace and a large group stuck it out to the end.
