Title: Pacers Sunday 10th January
Post by: Andy H on January 08, 2016, 01:53:23 PM
New route for the weekend, although over roads we've travelled before!

Hilly to start, less so to finish, plenty of bail out options.

See you Sunday

ps ignore the 'blip' going over Llangeinor!!  :-[

Amended to take out blip  :D

Cold, bit wet and hilly ride this morning.
Seven riders out, Paul, Greg, TS Steve, Rich Jones, Dave W, myself and a cameo appearance from Haydn, who peeled off after Gilfach Goch!
Ride was a little bit stop/start today, we lost Paul after Penrhys, (found again) and Dave punctured going up the Bwlch and down Llangeinor. Everybody agreed that we'd done enough miles by the time we reached Aberkenfig and headed home.
Note to self: must get warmer overshoes, the combination of the wet and cold made things a bit uncomfortable today.

Well impressed to find everyone cycling halfway up Penrhys looking for me after my detour! Big thanks to everyone out today.

Several riders complained of cold hands today; even though these got wet they are still warm

I'm going to take your recommendation Chris...my feet get wet and warm with sealskin waterproof socks and  grib grab overshoes. But with either my existing castelli ski type gloves or my thinner sealskin gloves the hands suffer in no time at all on days like today.

Jason put me on to them after we got so soaked on Maerdy that we had to mop the floor of the Baguette Express in Aberdare before we left.
I wore some thin under gloves today; probably didn't need to.

What are those gloves like if its cold, say between zero and 5 deg but not raining?
